ALISON BOULT: RECENT WORK
Alison Boult is a young and talented London based artist. Her paintings and drawings often centre around both real and fictional spaces. Her work is rooted in observational drawing but also takes imagery from novels and films through which she explores the boundaries between real and fictional situations and events.
This exhibition is largely comprised of Alison Boult's recent landscapes; sparsely populated by plants and mysterious objects, they feel inhabited by people that remain unseen to the viewer giving them an eerie quality. Alison only this month returned from Iceland - the exhibition will feature some of the work made during this painting residency amongst the barren and bitterly cold landscape.

Mapping the surface of other planets, and probing the unknown depths of our own; these works explore our ability to discern and interpret exo-planetary landscapes whilst highlighting the difficulty of detecting forms of life which deviate from our carbon-water based norm.
